See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are...

Sledding and Cocoa
An annual tradition for our family. With the first snow falling on Mt. Laguna we just had to run up there and take advantage. We stopped in Julian, of course, and enjoyed the best they have to offer at The Julian Cafe. Then while driving up the mountain we watched the graceful snow falling all around us. It was impossible not to be taken aback by God's beautiful creation. Alone on the road, it seemed like it was just for us. Once at the top of the mountain there were, of course, many other sledders enjoying the snow. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to sled, so I was the photographer while all of my boys and Tyler and Hallie went crazy. We hope you all enjoy the photos and have an amazingly MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Autumn with the Bennetts
We have been having so much fun so far this fall! Among other things, the boys had a sleep over at Nana and Papa's while we took a trip to Julian on a blissfully blustery day. We meandered through a quaint bookshop, an art gallery, the Cider Mill and a dozen little shops while enjoying hot Julian apple cider. It was wonderful to get away on an extended date, just the two of us. Then, this morning we took the boys to Bates Nut Farm to pick out pumpkins. We had an awesome time and took lots of pictures. Matthew put all of them into two albums on his mobile me account and here is the link. Go check it out.

Fun in the sun....
We went to the "splash park" not expecting to get wet. Silly Mommy. There's a regular playground that we were planning on playing on there as well. But when we saw that the splash park was finally turned on, they couldn't resist. (for some reason the city keeps shutting it down.) So the boys made due without board shorts and had a ball anyway. Its closed again but we'll go back as soon as it opens.

So we've survived...
our first ever bout of pink eye!! Yuck! After cleaning everything in bleach solution and washing all of the soft toys, Im hoping it doesn't resurface. And then, Mama caught some kind of crazy cold/ sore throat bug. But now that everyone is feeling better, we're getting ready to go buy Milo's school uniforms. Everyone (especially Milo) is really excited about school starting on the 25th! He asks everyday if he can "go to school today." Ill post some photos when we get back.

So, we finally got Zoo memberships and went down there on monday. It was SO much fun and we must have spent close to an hour watching the komodo dragon. We saw almost everything with the exception of polar bear plunge and the galapagos tortoise which we found out later is right past the komodo dragons. hahaha. Oh well. Next time.
Matthew's brother, Mike, and his wife Gina are out here visiting from Indiana this week for their 4th anniversary. Congratulations, you guys! And we're so happy we get to celebrate with them for Autry's 2nd birthday (the 21st) as well.
And then we leave for Family Camp at Forest Home on Sunday! WooHoo! We look forward to camp all year long. We have been so blessed by it. This will be our fourth summer going and we pray that it will be a lasting tradition that our kids will always remember happily.

Bunkbeds!!!!
Milo had completely outgrown his toddler bed and it was time for Autry to graduate from his crib, so we decided to go the bunkbed route. After a full day of building with an allen wrench (!!!!!) it was together and the boys were thrilled. Milo loves being able to touch the ceiling and now we have two monkeys climbing into our bed at the crack of dawn. We also cleaned out there walk in closet and arranged some of the toys inside to create a play room for them. Which they love. It was a lot of work but we're very happy with the end result.

They sang several Rob Biagi songs for us with sign language. He was the cutest one up there, of course!

We went to the pool today with our neighbor and his kids and had a blast. Their kids are the same ages as ours give or take a few months here and there. Patrick (our neighbor) grilled hotdogs for lunch and Milo helped himself to 2! hahaha We had SO much fun and mom even got a little bit of a tan.

Nothing new...
We've just been hanging out lately. Nothing much new and exciting but I wanted to check in. Although, Autry does have his first dental appointment on monday with the possibility of an extraction. eeek! On Easter, he tripped and chipped his two front teeth. Now, one of them is gray. Please pray that it doesn't go in that direction and the tooth can be saved. That's all we've got for now. Ill keep you posted. hahaha ..... posted. get it?

Good stuff....
We decided last minute to drive up to Chinatown in LA today and it was so much fun. Our first stop was Queen's Bakery where we loaded up on chinese vanilla cream puffs.....mmmmmmm. Then we found a huge swap-meet style market where we considered buying $6 turtles and actually purchased $6 shoes for mommy and a $6 toy gun for Milo (Daddy did the buying). Then we headed over to The Grove and ate at Maggiano's and got doughnuts and ice cream at the Farmer's Market.

Happy Easter!!!!
Bama and Papa Mike were here visiting from Indiana. We went to Santee Lakes to have our picnic. There, we flew kites, played on the playground and Milo went fishing with the Papa's. We had such a wonderful day, celebrating our Risen Savior!

Milo @ Denny & Olivia's Wedding
Our sweet Milo was the (less-than-excited) ringbearer. But he got the job Done! And Uncle Mike was a groomsman. Do work!
